On a cold Halloween night in Haddonfield, Illinois in 1963, six year old Michael Myers brutally murdered his teenage sister after she had sex with her boyfriend. Michael is then locked inside Smith's Grove Warren County Sanitarium where he is placed under the care of Dr. Sam Loomis who is the only one who sees the pure evil within the soul of Michael. On October 30, 1978, Michael escapes from the sanitarium. After witnessing the escape, Dr. Loomis heads back to Haddonfield where he knows Michael will kill again on Halloween night. Michael begins stalking three teenagers, Laurie Strode and her friends Annie and Lynda. With the help of the town sheriff, Loomis hunts for Michael and hopes to put an end to his grisly murder spree

Bit of a list of shame movie that I finally got to check out because a local drive-in was doing some old horror flicks. Now, admittedly, or Sound was messed up for the first half hour or so and we couldn't hear a lot but. I really don't get all the love for this. Yes, the score is phenomenal, that tell tale music is so effective that as soon as I heard it I got goosebumps.
Buuuuuut. The acting is terrible. There's a lot of logical inconsistencies with what Meyers is capable of. One minute he's able to lift a grown person off the ground with one hand and the next he's wheezing and struggling to do a simple task, so is he supernatural or not?
I want to appreciate that Jamie Lee Curtis put up a legit fight instead of just rolling over, so that was nice. It just wasn't particularly impactful in any way. I'll probably revisit this again on home video sometime but for right now this was massively overrated to me and really, really shows its age In some bad ways.
